2022 – Our year in numbers
Creative | Marketing | Technology2022 has been a record breaking year at Make, with over 100% growth, new offices and fresh talent brought on board.
As the year draws to a close, we’re taking a look back over our best bits, to celebrate the ways our team has helped our clients to supercharge their social campaigns and digital presence.
So what’s been new at Make?
We welcomed new Makers
After record breaking results this year, we ramped up resources, onboarding 15 new members of staff, so that we could continue to make industry-leading work.
And we’re not stopping there, we have 5 new roles open for Q1 2023, including for an Account Director, Social Media Manager, Influencer Exec and a Content Creator. So if you or someone you know is looking for a role with plenty of flexibility, that supports your personal development and gives brilliant perks, then get in touch.
On joining Make one of our new starters, Natasha said:
“As soon as I met the team at Make I could tell everyone has a great attitude to working collaboratively. There is a real buzz in the air around how quickly we’re growing and I’m looking forward to all the opportunities I’ll have to work with some interesting clients. I’m hoping to help create some fresh new campaigns that cut through the noise, and to develop the joined up creative services Make provides its clients.”
We delivered excellent value for our new clients
Since the beginning of the year we have welcomed over 20 new accounts to our client list, creating a variety of social media campaigns, websites and digital experiences to bolster their online traffic and conversions.
Highlights include working with Clearpay, one of the most popular Fintech BNPL platforms in the UK, who partner with leading retailers like Pandora, boohoo and PrettyLittleThing. For the brand we created over 200 paid advertising creative assets across 5 leading UK retailers in under 5 days, with time to spare.
After our creative went live across social media platforms such as Facebook and Instagram, Clearpay reported our ads received nearly 340,000 clicks, an increase of 404% year-on-year, and over 271,000 clicks on Cyber Monday, up 498% on-year.
We also launched the ALL.com hotel booking engine to a European audience, targeting the UK, Germany, and Poland. Crediting us with shifting the dial on their global creatives, the content director on the account praised us for how much Make had risen to the occasion, given that ALL started with little brand recognition within the UK.
We brought home some trophies
This year Make’s work secured a grand total of 5 prestigious award wins for our clients.
Two of these wins were at the Web Marketing Association’s annual WebAward Competition, the premier award recognition program for website developers and the online marketing community.
Mollie’s Motel and Diner, a roadside hotel in Oxfordshire, designed by Soho House, went home with their Best Food Industry Website 2022. Since we launched the new site, there has been a continuous increase in website users, page views, website speed, and above all, online bookings. We’ve also seen a high ROAS of 17 on recent campaigns across Google, Facebook and Instagram.
Another Make client, IBM company Klarity, which provides cloud management tools, was presented with Outstanding Website 2022. For Klarity’s site we were tasked with designing a website and elevating a product that stood out from the digital crowd. In the time that the re-launched business has been in operation (over 18 months – update if needed), Klarity has really taken off and grown in various international markets, ranking well in SERPs.
Mollie’s website also received an Honorable Mention at the Awwwards and a Catey’s Award, which we helped secure. And lastly, we were proud to make it into Clutch’s Top 100 Growing Businesses list, highlighting the world’s 100 fastest-growing companies and the top 100 sustained-growth companies.
We found a new home for Make
With half the business now working remotely we’ve taken on a more central London collaborative space where we will meet as an agency in full every month and our London teams each week. With 5 meeting booths and a cinema screen projector, it’s perfect for reviewing our creative work and meeting clients in person.
We let our hair down
It’s not all work, work, work. In 2022, we’ve had 4 team away days and socials to say well done to the team when we hit our target each quarter. Q3 was celebrated with a bonus for all the team, a day out for everyone in London and an overnight stay at The Standard Hotel.
More recently we hosted a Christmas party to celebrate the end of a successful year at Make! We started with fun, games and a Secret Santa in the office, followed by an immersive Christmas theatre trip and lunch, finishing off with cocktails and dinner at Shoreditch House.
Thanks to all our staff, clients and friends who have made our 2022 such a success. Now let’s see what we can achieve in 2023!
